Chapter 7: Knight in Writer's Blocked Armor
Words by: Proto
"Is there anything as disheartening as a blank computer screen?" Cid's voice filled his studio apartment as he leaned back in his chair. Music flowed out from his small computer speakers inspiring him to be the best. Got to be the best. Got to change the world. His hands ran through his thick dark hair and rubbed his neck roughly. "Must…work…avoid…internet…" he muttered to himself as he found his urge to write waning even further. A cursory glance around the room made him acutely aware of the letter posted up on his whiteboard. It was from his editor, reminding him that the deadline for his next book was encroaching upon them rather quickly. He leaned forward in his chair, gaze returning to the flashing cursor at the top of his word document. "You write one decent book and suddenly they're breakin down the door for more. If only it worked that way…" His hands flung across the keyboard pressing keys at random. He stood up quickly and began to pace around the room impatiently. How do pros do this? He thought to himself, just sit around all day and write best sellers. Life seemed so much easier when he had a regular job. He shook his head, freeing him of such thoughts. He had made a decision to become a full time writer and would follow through. Cid's eyes wandered to the clock, it was already almost 6 in the evening already. The sun had almost completely set and he hadn't seen the light of day at all today. As if clairvoyance was an app on his phone, it buzzed with a text message notification. It was from his friend, Dave.
"If you can peel yourself away from that novel that I'm sure you're totally busy writing and not spending the whole day on Rage Comics, meet me down at the Dubliner for a beer. Friday nights ain't the same with you big guy." Cid smiled and responded, "I'll dodge your accusation by saying that was a run on sentence. Also, 'ain't' ain't a word, homeboy. See you at 7." The irish pub was around the corner from his apartment so he had plenty of time for the first shower of the day. He cleaned up and got dressed in a typical black t shirt that fit well, strong shoulders and arms framed clearly. His fitted jeans buttoned up and he slid his wallet and phone into his pockets. After a last minute check list of pocket patting, he walked out the door. As he strode to the bar, his thoughts filled, as usual, with thoughts of a certain red headed barista at the local coffee shop. Her soft bangs that hung down over her face, jade eyes that were filled to brim with happiness. He couldn't help but even remember her soft breasts that her apron curved around. He admired her cute butt as she worked on the coffee he had ordered that day. Before he knew it, Cid had reached his destination. He pushed the door open as he scanned the bar for Dave. His bright red hair made him easy to spot on the far side, sitting on a stool with two beers already waiting. Cid made his way there, his dark brown hair still wet from the shower felt cool air as he walked under the air conditioner vent. Dave turned and waved to him excitedly, his brown long sleeve shirt hung baggily over his frame. Cid sat down the stool next to him, "Is this seat taken, big boy?" he asked jokingly. Dave's eyebrows cocked suggestively, "Turn it upside down and we can both fit on there, ya know". Cid closed his eyes and leaned back, trying to erase the image that was now haunting his mind. "Oh man! That was just gross!" he laughed "How am I gonna get that shit out of my head. Damn."
Dave slapped his back, "just think about your girlfriend over at 50k. What's her name? May?" he asked. Cid laughed and shook his head, "Mai, or so her nametag says. And she's not my girlfriend. Hell, I don't even think she knows I exist." Dave nodded in agreement, "Not that your last performance wasn't TOTALLY memorable or anything. I mean, how could she not be swept off her feet with Jackie Chan banter?" the ginger teased him. Cid hit his arm with a light backhand. "C'mon man, you know that took some cojones. I haven't seen you make a move on our resident irish lass here!" Cid retorted. "Yeah, but I haven't been pining like you have over May. Tell me, how many times did you go into that coffee shop to see her before you worked up the nerve to actually talk to her?" Dave grilled him. Cid laughed, "Again, it's Mai. Maybe you're got too much hair in your ears again. And, far more than I'd care to admit. I tell ya though, this is weird. It's not my MO, ya know?" Dave shrugged as he took a drink of his brew, "I'll give ya that. I've never seen you so worked up over a girl. You've always been so smooth. You need to get your groove back, son." Cid took a large swig of his Newcastle, "Yeah, maybe I just need a little liquid courage." He said motioning to the bottle in his hand. Dave made a face, "I can guarantee you, that will not end well. Remember New Years 2010? You really want a repeat of THAT incident? I'm sure Mai doesn't want to wake up with that much giraffe hair in the backseat of her car, and I am NOT bailing your goofy ass out of jail again." Cid let out a hearty laugh and lifted his beer to his friend's, "I'll drink to that. Good times…" Dave lifted his, tapping the bottle against his friends, "Yeah they were…" they let out a collective sigh and drank once again. Cid placed his bottle back on the bar, "I do wonder, though, what's she doing right now?" Dave shrugged, "A classy gal like that? Probably reading or watching more Jackie Chan flicks."
Meanwhile, across town. "RAAAAUUUGGHHHH!!" Mai screamed as she jumped out from around the corner trying to scare April. She succeeded. April stumbled back towards the shut door to the living room, "Whoa-ho-shiiiiiii-" she tried to catch her balance but fell backward through the door, landing on the floor with a thud. Mai rubbed her eyes as she stood in shock. The door was still shut. Had she just seen what she thought she saw? April phased through the door!" She got up and ran to the door, across her bedroom. Just as she got close, it swung open and hit her square in the forehead. She fell back a few steps and onto the bed. April was standing there horrififed, "Oh god babe! Are you okay?" she yelped as she leapt onto the bed next to her, touching her forehead tenderly. Mai's hand reached up and rubbed her head, too. She could already feel a knot forming. "That's gotta be record time. We've been dating for like, 16 hours and you're already beating me?" Mai said with a smile. April's cheeks puffed up as she frowned disapprovingly. "I didn't mean to beat you with the door! It just..happened! I didn't know you were there and I wanted to come back and explain the whole crazy going through stuff power. So I swung the door open and your face makes a better door stop than the cheap one I have at my place. Seriously, you should market that." April joked as she leaned over to kiss her girlfriend's aching head. Mai giggled, "Get over here and make me feel better, wall walking through girlfriend. Literally" she smiled as April leaned further over to kiss her on the lips. "My pleasure, shockingly accepting girlfriend," the raven haired beauty responded. "You can't surprise me anymore. I'm just along for the ride now," Mai barely managed to finish her sentence before their lips locked passionately as Mai rolled them over on the bed, planting herself on top. April's hands slid up Mai's legs from her knees up her thighs and hips to her butt, firm through her jeans, she couldn't help herself and she gave it a nice squeeze. Mai squealed and leapt up, landing next to her on the bed giggling, "Sorry! That just really tickled" the red head offered apologetically. A mischievous smile came across April's lips, "Oh that's no problem. But you're in trouble now" her hand slowly sliding across the bed. Mai leaned back trying to figure out what she meant. Suddenly, April leapt forward, her fingers bent like claws, she began to tickle Mai's legs and thighs, causing her to laugh and kick uncontrollably. April only barely dodged a few kicks and knees, as well as flailing arms as Mai's laughs filled the apartment.
Hours later, in the bar Dave found himself on the toasty side of a few too many beers. Cid, expecting this, had kept to nursing only a couple beers as he'd be stuck driving his drunk friend home. The bartender came by and dropped off their tab for the evening. Cid eyed it and pulled his wallet out when something across the bar got his attention. A young blonde woman was trying, quite ineffectively, to free herself from a man's grasp. She took a step away, trying to wrench her arm free, but the man pulled her back roughly. Cid glanced over at the bartender who was at the other end, talking to a cute patron. His gaze shifted back to the unhappy couple, he was vaguely aware of Dave making comments about what a dick the man was. Finally, she broke free of his grasp and fell back a step regaining her balance. The man stood up and raised his hand to her, she shrunk back covering her face in fear. This was not the first time something like this had happened. Cid sighed and took a last drink of his beer. He placed the empty bottle down on the bar and stood up. Dave shook his head and turned to watch. The blonde woman choked back tears as the man stared down at her angrily. A rough hand grabbed him by the shoulder and spun him around hard, "I believe the young lady wants to leave. Why not be a gentleman and oblige her?" Cid asked, still holding the man's shoulder. He was a few inches shorter, a stocky build and dirty hands meant he worked hard for a living. "Who the hell do you think you are? Get the fuck out of my face. She's my bitch and I'll do what I like!" he shook free of Cid's grasp and turned around. He wrenched the girls arm and dragged her out the back door out of the bar into the alley. Dave tapped on the shoulder of a stranger sitting next to him at the bar, "Now he's screwed."
Cid cracked his neck and rolled his shoulder as he walked quickly out grabbing his jacket and heading out the back door following them. He entered the alley to see the man forcing himself on the young woman behind a dumpster. His hand roughly jerked at the zipper on her back. She tried to push him off, but was met with a hard slap that stunned her long enough for him to break the zipper altogether. Before he knew what happened, the man was lifted off the ground and hurled back against the wall. He glanced back to see the young woman trying to hold her dress up, "Here. Take this" he said tossing his jacket toward her. She clung to it, covering up as best she could. Cid's attention turned to the would be rapist who had since picked himself up off the ground. "You just couldn't mind your own fuckin business, huh?" he said balling up his fists, and hunching forward. Cid stood up straight, his own hands loose, "Not as long as you can't keep your hands to yourself." The man growled as he dashed forward headlong toward Cid. With a simple side step, he deftly dodged the charge and gripped the attacker's shirt base and collar. A hard pull allowed Cid to throw him off balance and head first into the dumpster behind them. Enraged the man got back up running forward swinging his fists wildly. Cid watched the man's shoulders ducking and dodging the assault. The man unleashed a wide haymaker, Cid's feet planted as he bent his knees and brought his arms up, defensively. The blow connected with his blocking stance perfectly. Cid gripped the man's arm tight, pulling him forward, once again using his momentum against him. He pulled the man's weight over his shoulder throwing him to the ground with a loud thud. The man tried to get up once again but a shadow cast over him. He looked up to see Cid towering above tensed biceps stretching his shirt sleeves, "If you get up, it had better be to leave." He said with conviction that could kill. The beaten and scared man scrambled back on his hands and feet before getting up and booking it out of the alley. By now, Dave and few patrons from the bar had made their way into the alley. Cid turned back to the young woman, "Are you okay, ma'am?" he asked, his countenance suddenly softening incredibly. He extended his hand out to her. Shakily she took it, and he helped her up and back into the bar. "C'mon, let's call you a cab." The woman, still speechless and shocked sat silently in the booth next to her rescuer and his apparently drunken friend. Shortly thereafter, the cab arrived for the young lady. Cid helped her into the car and closed the door for her. Before the cab left the window rolled down and the blonde woman's face emerged, "Th-thank you…so much…What's your n-n-name?" She stammered. "Cid," he smiled. "Now get on home you need rest." The car drove off into the city, tail lights vanishing around the corner. Dave leaned on Cid heavily, "Bro, tell me you got her number." Cid smiled and shook his head, "Only one girl out there for me, man. I just gotta hope she feels the same someday." Dave shook his head, "you're killin me, Smalls.

Power Play: Growing Relationship Chapter 6
Written By: Proto
Chapter 6: Titles
"She's your girlfriend." Milly's voice filled the silent back room. She was an older woman, in her mid fifties probably, with soft blonde hair sprinkled with grays. Her blue eyes were always warm and friendly, though her tongue could cut like a knife. If her years had taught her anything it was that beating around the bush was a pointless exercise. She could always be counted on to tell it how she saw it. And, that's exactly what she was doing.
"She is not my…you know…that!" Mai scrubbed the pot she had in her hands even harder as she felt her face ignite with embarrassment. She had been going on dates with April for a couple months now but the title had never been officially bestowed upon them. Though, internally , Mai had been longing for it recently. She cared for April so deeply and wanted nothing more than to call April hers and say she belonged to the raven haired beauty. To truly be together, for the world to see and know. To stand on top of a mountain and exclaim it was all Mai wanted to do. But alas, she could not. Yet.
"Why are you so afraid of that word? There's nothing wrong with you two kids being an item. I've seen how happy she makes you. All you have to do is ask and make it official. If she's half the lady she appears to be, there's only one answer." Milly smiled as she walked over and rubbed Mai's back. The red head smiled back and nodded. "But, if I ask…won't that make me…the 'guy'?" she asked worriedly. Milly threw her head back and let out a hearty laugh. "Dear, I have no idea how lesbian relationships work. But I don't think either of you can be labeled so easily." That was the first time Mai had considered herself the L word. But it was true, it just sounded strange. The rest of the shift carried on without much event. Mai left the shop around ten and headed home, the whole way her mind was filled with thoughts of what her co-worker had said earlier. Was she afraid? No, that couldn't be it. Are titles really that important, anyway? Yes, they are. Shut up. She reached her apartment building and took the slow creaky elevator up to her floor. As she neared her apartment it suddenly hit Mai how tired she was. The door slowly swiveled open as she lumbered inside like a zombie. Without breaking stride she dropped her purse and keys on the floor as she made her way trudging to the bedroom. Like a tree in the woods her whole body fell forward and collapsed on her bed. Within moments she was sound asleep.
When she woke up her whole apartment was filled with flowers of every color. Red roses, yellow hibiscus, blue iris', every color of every flower imaginable. She leapt out of bed with a start and looked around confusedly. She heard a sound from the kitchen and she crept over to investigate. Slowly, the pushed the door open and saw a figure in the kitchen. Fear gripped her as she closed the door, leaning her body against it. Who the hell was that? Where the hell did these flowers come from? Where the hell is the bat she kept just for moments like this? Ah, hell this sucks. Mai's eyes shut tight as she tried to figure out what she was going to do. The cops! Call the cops. She scanned the room for her phone but couldn't spot it anywhere. "Dammit…" she muttered to herself as she realized it was in her purse that she so intelligently dropped in the entryway when she got home. Why did she have to be so tired. Curses! Her heart skipped a beat as it leapt into her throat when she suddenly heard a knock on the door.
"Sweetie…? Is that you?" a familiar voice called from the other side. "Breakfast is ready. Hurry up and eat before it gets cold. You don't wanna be late to work!" Mai's eyes shot open as she recognized the voice. She spun on her heel, "April…?" The door opened slowly, light from the kitchen filled the bedroom. Sure enough, there she was standing right before Mai. Apron clad, spatula in hand and smile spread across her face. Mai rubbed her head confusedly, but April simply grabbed her hand and led her to the table. She sat down with a thud as April brought a plate of bacon and eggs over with a side of pancakes. Mai looked down at it worriedly, "This looks delicious, babe. But I don't think I can eat this much…" April smiled and waved it off dismissively, "You better! You'll need your strength to get through the day at the steel mill. You're not gonna get that promotion to foreman if you don't keep your energy up!" Mai felt a wave of confusion come over her, "Steel…mill?" she said quietly. She caught a glimpse of herself in the TV reflection. A burly man with a thick red beard was staring back at her. Mai shrieked and fell back out of her chair. The fall from her bed to the floor woke her up with a start. She jumped up, nearly out of her skin, as she bounded for the bathroom. The light stung her eyes but she didn't care, she needed to see her reflection. Finally, her eyes adjusted to the brightness and she immediately felt huge relief. Her reflection stared back with the same visage as always, a small red headed girl with shimmering green eyes. She sat on the toilet seat next to her, "just…just a dream…" but the dream had left her feeling even more uneasy.
She spent the next morning playing video games and thinking about what Milly had said the previous day. Only one answer. We defy labels, anyway. "I want this relationship to move forward. I have to make an effort. No more sitting back!" Mai leapt up from the ground, "Do you hear me, world? I will make April mine!" Through all kinds of irony, her phone started to ring, Mai paused the game with her toe and answered the phone in a fake Italian accent, "Salute, Claudia!" On the other end of the phone, April responded with a laugh, "I'm sorry I don't have the book for you to look at!" both women laughed, and Mai sat back down on her couch. "What's up, sweetie?" she asked.
"Well I know the fair is still in town and I was curious if you wanted to go. I also have a way in to that museum gala tonight in the city. Do either of those interest you?" April quizzed. Mai kicked her feet in the air for a few moments with audible hmms and haws. "Weeellll, I did want to talk to you about a couple things tonight. The gala sounds fancy and I DO love a chance to dress up for you" she smiled into the phone. "Well it sounds like you have your mind made up then! I'll pick you up at 8?" April's happy response came through the phone. Even though Mai's old phone didn't have the best speaker quality, hearing April's crackled and distorted voice still brought butterflies to her stomach and a smile to her face. The rest of the day continued on as usual, games and a long shower. Before long, Mai slipped into a small black dress. It clung to her figure, exemplifying her figure. Her small bosom was enhanced slightly by a push up bra, and the dress' cut showed of her hips well, tapering into her cute butt. She spent an hour on her hair, trying to get the perfect curls in the back of the bun she had pulled her hair up into. Then the final step of making her bangs hang perfectly over her face. She had the plan worked out perfectly; they'd spend a lovely evening at the gala, laughing and being classy, making jokes that were not classy at all at the expense of other guests. Then they'd leave and go she'd make sure they went to the scenic point above the lake, where she'd ask the official question. April would say yes and immense making out would ensue. Mai looked at herself in the mirror and nodded in approval of the plan.
At 8 o'clock sharp, there was a knock on the door. Mai squealed excitedly and leapt over. She grabbed her clutch purse and swung it open. April was standing there in a striking blue dress that made the blue in her eyes seem to leap out and increase in brightness tenfold. Mai lunged at her, their arms wrapped around each other as their lips collided in a passionate kiss, "I've missed you, dear" Mai murmured between kisses. April laughed, "I know! What has it been? 48 hours?" Mai planted a firm kiss, "47 too many" The two descended in the elevator, "So what was it that you wanted to talk about?" April asked as her fingers wrapped around Mai's. "Oh it can wait. I figured maybe after the gala we could go the lookout point by the lake?" she responded. April shrugged, "Yeah no problem. Seems like you have quite the plan, would you mind driving then? I have the directions in my purse," she patted a small bag on her shoulder. Mai nodded and they headed into the parking lot hand in hand. They reached Mai's car as she began digging around for her keys in her purse. When she grabbed them she lifted them high above her triumphantly. April cleared her throat to get Mai's attention. Mai glanced over to her, "Well if I'm your date to this fancy gala, maybe I should blend in with the other women there!" She closed her eyes and exhaled slowly, her breasts began to swell forward in her dress. Mai's mouth dropped open in awe as she watched the amazing show. April's bosom pushed forward in her dress, cleavage forming a deep valley in the now plunging neckline. In Mai's awestruck daze, she dropped her keys and they bounced off her head with a clang and landed under the car. April cringed and brought her hands up to her mouth, "Are you okay, babe? That looked painful!"
Mai rubbed her head, "I'm fine, that was embarrassing. My keys also managed to somehow slide under my car. I've never understood how they can do that" she continued as she shimmied down to the parking lot ground, "I mean , REALLY, don't the laws of physics say it should just hit the ground and stop. What's with this ability for them to launch themselves under the nearest large household appliance or vehicle I mean really. Plus it's so freakin dark down here I swear I could just…" Suddenly a light appeared on the other of the car, like a warm glow. Then two more appeared and their gaze shifted back in forth in tandem. After a moment Mai realized that the light itself was coming from April's eyes and hand. "Yeah another handy power of mine. Illuuummiinaaaatttiiioooooonnnn!" she said with a vibrato in her voice for effect. Mai giggled and watched on as the soft glow continued to light up the under of her car. April reached out and grabbed the keys which had somehow slid across to the passenger side, "Now that IS impressive!" April exclaimed and laughed. They each stood back up, April's eyes and hands still glowing warmly. Mai smiled, "Wow, talk about headlights." The glow from the black haired woman's eyes shifted as a cock eyed expression came across her face. Mai rubbed her neck, "I'm sorry, I couldn't pass that one up." April's glow faded into darkness once again and she laughed, "Oh no it's fine. I too am a fan of terrible puns! But we should get going! We don't wanna be too late. All the good food will be gone!" The drive to the downtown part of the city was filled with bright lights and flashing signs. "So! You glow, too?" Mai asked curiously. "How is that workin out for ya?" she smiled. April giggled, "Yeah I can. It's pretty swell, actually. Just my hands and eyes, though. It's nice to use for moment like earlier. Never worried much about a night light, just WOOSH, used my hand."
It wasn't long before they reached their destination and Mai found a parking spot not far at all, luckily. They strode into the museum eager to see the elaborate displays, crazy food on the tables, and, most importantly, the wide array of guests. Once inside, they wandered the halls examining the exhibits, but none of it really stood out as that interesting. Disappointedly, the couple made their way to the table covered with more hors d'oeuvres than they even knew existed. Mai picked up a plate and began to look at her choices. April took a double take at the plate of chocolate covered strawberries, and visibly held back a laugh. "What are you laughing at?" Mai inquired, wanting to laugh too. April waved her hand, "Nothing. I just heard something funny." Mai's eyes narrowed as confusion once again crept over her. April's eyes lit up again, "Oh! I'm so sorry! I completely forgot to tell you. I can hear thoughts of delicious food. " Mai laughed, leaning against April's shoulder. She wrapped her arm around her red headed date and held her tight. Mai glanced around for something to test the ability on. She picked up a strange asparagus, egg and spinach concoction, "What's it thinking?!" she posed excitedly. April smirked and rested her hand on Mai's, "I meant I read PEOPLE'S thoughts ABOUT delicious foods..." They paused for a moment and both laughed together heartily. Mai looked up, "Any other powers I should know about?" April shrugged, "all in due time, sweetie. All in due time." April's gaze shifted to a couple that had just entered the museum, a woman in a beautiful yellow gown, and her date in a black tux with a yellow vest and tie to match. April's hand slid from Mai's back to her hand, "come on, babe. Let's go. This party isn't really working out". Mai nodded in agreement and they made their exit.
"Would you mind terribly if we went to the fair for a bit? I know you wanted to go to the lake, but I feel like this gala was kinda a bust." April asked shyly. "Oh I'd love to! I'm sorry, I chose to come here. I thought it'd be…I dunno…more interesting. But never mind that! To the fair!" The two departed once again for their new destination. Before long they found themselves in fairgrounds, surrounded by whirling lights and laughing children. A rollercoaster screamed across the way, and a tilt-a-whirl spun wildly aways from that. They exchanged an ecstatic look and ran straight in, hand in hand. The night was a blur from there. They started in the carnival area, playing games to win each other stuffed animals. Mai pointed to the outrageously large Curious George and April nodded. They tried time after time to toss the ring around the bottles. After spending far more money than the stuffed animal was worth, April finally sunk the final ring. The carnie smiled, unhooked the monkey and handed him over. Mai slung him over her back and held the hands around her shoulders, giving him a piggy back ride. April laughed and the two bound off toward the next area of the fair. They rode ponies in formal dresses, and ate cotton candy that smudged their lipstick. They stood across from each other on the tilt-a-whirl and Mai couldn't help but marvel at April's beauty as her hair flew to the side, her sky blue eyes staring straight back at her. Mai had never felt happier to run around and just have fun with someone before. The roller coaster beckoned them and they answered the call. The car came over the crest of the biggest drop the coaster had. Mai and April clung to each other as it plummeted down hundreds of feet and banked hard to the side. April felt Mai's body against her own, and she wished it would never leave her side. She looked over at the gorgeous green eyed girl sitting beside her laughing, having the time of her life. Her whole life, April had never felt anything like this before. Maybe her family was wrong all along…Just maybe
They staggered off the roller coaster and saw in the distance the tunnel of love. It was cheesy, but this may be Mai's perfect chance. This evening had gone even better than she could have imagined, what better time than now. Wordlessly, they exchanged glances and dashed toward the ride. However, upon reaching it, they found it out of order. Disappointment hit Mai like a ton of bricks, but she was having too fun of a night to let this spoil it. April turned to face Mai, their hands still intertwined, not knowing where her fingers ended and Mai's hand begun. It was so nice to feel this way, finally. "What was it you wanted to talk about?" April asked. Mai smiled, the time had come. It wasn't the top of the view, it wasn't the tunnel of love. But it was as good a time as any. Why not now? "Well…these last couple months with you have been…the best time of my life. And, I like you…so much. Soooo much," she laughed. April listened on in smiling silence. "You're just so amazing, in every way. Not even just because of you amazing powers. But because you're…you. And I love that. I wanted to know if you-" with a boom, the fair's fireworks show drowned out the rest of Mai's words. April laughed and held her hand to her ear, "What? I missed that last part?" Mai tried again, "I want y-" BOOM filled their air once again. Mai, irritated and somewhat embarrassed, waved her hand and mouthed "never mind. Let's get out of here!" April smiled and nodded.
They drove back to Mai's apartment, Curious George riding in the back, buckled in of course. After a car ride full of laughter and kisses, they reached their destination. Mai stood at the front door of her apartment and April right in front of her, preparing to say good night. They stood face to face, eyes staring deeply into each other's. It felt like an eternity of silence, "I guess this is good night…" April slowly said. Mai nodded in agreement but her mouth spoke differently, "You don't have to go…if you don't want to…" Their gaze still unblinking, unbreaking, "You're right…would you mind if I stayed…" the two leaned in towards each other slowly waiting for the answer to come. Mai's lips parted enough to kiss when the answer came, "Please do…Stay" Their lips met in a kiss the likes of which neither had ever seen. They stumbled together into the apartment, closing the door behind April. They tangled limbs as they kissed standing in the entry way, making their way to the bedroom clumsily knocking over Mai's stand up lamp and purses hit the floor in a thud. They fell in a heap on the bed, finally. Mai's hands flew to April's neck, holding her head in a close kiss. April's hands slid to Mai's hips, keeping her body close. Lips connected, tongues wrestled, hands gripped, hair hung down messily, mouths panted between passionate kisses, legs intertwined. April broke away for a moment, kissing Mai's cheek softly, she rested her head on the nape of Mai's neck. April's heart began to beat even faster, heat filled her face and nervousness shot through her stomach. "Mai…be mine…" she said simply. Mai lifted her face and smiled softly. She planted a tender kiss on April's lips, "I always have been…" The lover's bodies fell limp side by side. Mai scooted closer to April, cuddling close to her. She smiled and they closed their eyes to spend their first official night together.
